Frequently Asked Questions

How does this work? Is it a tour?

This is a self-guided experience. There is a video kiosk you’ll visit for an overview and to go over the Pollinator Park and Butterfly House rules. Then you are on your own to explore and enjoy your visit for as long as you like.

There will be staff on site taking care of our butterflies and plants, so if you have any questions or need assistance, they will be able to help.

Parents & Caregivers PLEASE READ

Parents / caregivers are responsponsible for making sure your kiddos don’t disturb our pollinators, pick flowers or wander off specified paths, as well as supervising in our designated play areas.

Is the Pollinator Park stroller and/or wheelchair accessible?

All areas ARE accessible to some extent — but note that the terrain in the Park is either crushed stone or turf.

We ask that strollers are not brought into the Butterfly House itself, but are welcome to be enjoyed in other parts of the Park.

If you or anyone in your party has accessibility concerns, we will do our best to  accommodate your needs. We ask that you please call ahead of the day you plan to come so we are prepared for your arrival. (860) 949-8722

May I bring food and water?

Absolutely! There are many areas that are perfect for picnicking. We do have some tables, but you may bring picnic blankets if you wish. All we ask is that you clean up after your picnic and dispose of any trash in provided receptacles.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, your friendly pups are invited to the Park, but not inside the Butterfly House. They must remain leashed at all times and cleaned up after. ADA dogs are allowed into the Park.

Please be sure to bring drinking water for them as well as yourself!

Are bathrooms available?

Yes, but not located in the Park. We have two restrooms available in the back of our Tropical House.

Will the Park stay open if it's raining?

The Park will be open, HOWEVER, the majority of it is not covered. If rain is expected, we advise you to reschedule your visit. Also, the butterflies are less active during rainy periods.

Do you allow professional/portrait photography sessions?

Yes, however, all photography shoots must be pre-scheduled with a Burnett’s team member. Regular admission rates apply.

Do you host birthday parties or large groups?

Yes! For questions about group events and booking them, please email info@burnettscg.com with date, time, guest count, and contact information.
